BAPTISMS, BABY DEDICATIONS
& COMMUNION

BAPTISMS

Each quarter on the 4th Sunday

WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
In receiving water baptism, we are following Jesus’ example and obeying His command. Water baptism is a public declaration of what Jesus Christ has done in the believer's life. It symbolizes Jesus’ own death, burial, and resurrection for our sins, and the death of our “old self” to sin, and the raising of our “new self” in Christ.

HOW WILL I BE BAPTIZED?
At Restoration, we believe in baptism by full immersion because Jesus and the early church modeled this practice. The person baptizing you will simply dip you under the water, raise you back up, and congratulate you!

CAN MY FAMILY BE BAPTIZED TOGETHER?
Yes. If each family member understands the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage families to be baptized at the same time.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please dress modestly.  You should bring a dark-colored t-shirt and dark colored shorts for baptism. Bring a change of clothes, appropriate shoes, a towel, and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

WILL I HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING?
You will only have to answer this question: "Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?". That’s it!

BABY DEDICATIONS
Every First Sunday

Throughout the New Testament, the Bible teaches that baptism is a public expression of worship symbolizing the new life we have when we follow Jesus. In the Bible we see that Jesus’ parents dedicated Him to the Lord (Luke 2:22–40), and He was later baptized as an adult (Matthew 3:16–17).

We understand that some churches practice “baptism of confirmation” for children. This ceremony is intended to be a commitment between the parents and God on the behalf of the child. The parents promise to raise their child in the faith until the child is old enough to make his or her own personal confession of Christ. This custom began about 300 years after the Bible was completed and is different from the biblical examples of new believers being baptized to publicly profess their faith in Jesus.

With a heart to follow this Biblical model, at Restoration we provide the opportunity for baby dedications.

COMMUNION

Every First Sunday

Communion is a unique time in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).

When we take communion, it provides a connection between us and God. It focuses our hearts and minds on Him. We are acknowledging His supernatural work and honoring who He is in our lives.
